hm.. im mainly a PvE player not so much on the PvP side think ill go with prophecies lol now to find a sweet deal.I heard factions was a flop or something and its dead is it true? Also, are there any like labour proffessions in the game e.g wood cutting, minin, farming etc? Finally, what do u think is the best proffession to start with(and in case i start with nightfall include the choices of dervish,paragon).Thanks.

you should be able to run GW..you won't have all the bells and whistles since you probably won't be able to run it with max settings.
Factions isn't dead...its just different No labourers (sp) this isn't a true MMO like WoW All classes are equal...read on the wiki for more details on them...pick they type that best fits you..and go with it...get to lvl 10 or so...if you don't like it reroll it |

-There are no labour professions
-Factions is not dead, the playerbase is just a bit devided between the different campaigns -the profession of your choice is really up to yourself. I choose ranger because I like fighting from a distance, making me able to survey the entire battlefield -Minimum System Specs for Nightfall: * Windows XP/2000/ME/98 * Intel Pentium III 1.0 GHz or equivalent * 512 MB RAM * CD-ROM Drive * 3 GB Available HDD Space * ATI Radeon 8500 or GeForce 3 Series Video Card with 64MB of VRAM * 16-bit Sound Card * Internet connection * Keyboard and mouse * DirectX 8 So I suppose it should be playable. -Two must reads which gave me the answers for your questions: http://www.guildwars.com/products/ http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page Hope this helps, gr |

I would up the RAM a bit.. But should run fine. I see the Campains in the following way:
Prophecies: Core, First campain, great to start with, has a LONG PvE campain. Factions: PvP, Intoduced the Assasin and Ritualist, not so great PvE but still nice to have. Nightfall: PvE,PvP, Introduced the Paragon and Dervish. Also added Hero's as customizable Henchmen you could call upon. Short PvE though, but still nice. Eye of the North: Expansion I would Buy in the following order: Prophecies+Eye of the North(2-in-1 Pack) Nightfall Factions You can always buy online from the guild wars store: http://www.plaync.com/ |

i doubt with your current setup...even with an additional 1gig of Ram will be able to run GW with max settings. That being said..it isn't required to have it on max settings.
Yes normally the PlayNc or GW store is more expensive then other sites...since other sites offer things at a discount to move inventory. if you are going to buy the game...really try to pickup the combo of Prophecies and Eye of the North. |

Even on GW's lowest graphix settings its still a very cool looking game, but go for the higher your comp will support for some really awsome screen shots.
The event updates are not insanely huge, but you must download them, no way around it. However once you download the event once its much smaller the second time around, and if you use the suggested -image to doanload all files you should get most of the event material as well. My best advise would be to use the -image either before you go to bed or first thing in the morning and let it run, even on a really really slow conection it should not take more than 2-4hours max. I have a guild member running on 56K modem and he has little trouble at all. |

right don't buy any game except from a store. Most games you buy off of Ebay or other people...will be in use already or banned...so its just throwing money away...then only way to be 100% sure that you get a "valid" copy of the game is to buy from a store and not a second hand store
Edit; For a guy that hasn't got the game yet...you sure do have a lot of questions..i would image you will have a forum title of Forge Runner pretty soon.... |
